Essential Info for Your Adventure
-
Our trips are as safe as any backcountry adventure can be. We know the wilderness inside and out, and our guides are well-prepared to handle anything that might come up—whether it’s sudden weather changes or the chance of spotting wildlife up close. You’ll be in good hands with us out there.
-
Our homestead is about a 4-hour drive from Williams Lake, mostly along Highway 20 until you reach Tatla Lake. From there, it’s a gravel road to the lodge, so be ready for a bit of a rougher ride. There’s no cell service between Williams Lake and Tatla, but you’ll have a signal in Tatla. After that, it’s all off-grid—perfect for a true backcountry adventure!
-
To secure your spot, a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due on June 15th.
-
Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll send you a detailed packing list with suggested items tailored to your specific trip. This way, you’ll know exactly what to pack for your adventure!
-
During the trip, there will be no cell service, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature. However, you can access Wi-Fi at the lodge in the mornings and evenings for a little connection time.
-
Trips may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions, as our priority is ensuring everyone’s safety and enjoyment. We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance for all guests. If a cancellation does occur, we’ll provide alternatives to ensure you still have a great experience.
-
Yes, there is a weight restriction to ensure the well-being of our horses. The maximum weight limit is 230 lbs, but this applies only if we have larger horses available. Due to our limited number of horses that can carry heavier riders, we recommend checking in with us before booking to confirm availability.
-
Even if you’ve never ridden a horse you’ll be competent by the time you leave!
-
Group sizes depend on the adventure. Our Explorer trip hosts up to 6 participants, while our Pioneer trip can accommodate up to 8. We keep group sizes small to ensure a personal, immersive experience for everyone.
-
While we can’t guarantee wildlife on most of our horseback rides you’ll have the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife. We are riding deep into unpopulated land after all.
-
Yes you can smoke outside and bring your own alcohol.
-
We understand how much you love your furry friends! However, for the safety of our participants and horses, we can’t allow personal dogs or horses on the trips, as the terrain can be challenging for unfamiliar horses. Rest assured, our own friendly dogs will be there to join the adventure, as we know they get along great with our horses! Thank you for your understanding!
-
We understand that plans can change. Here’s our cancellation policy to help you navigate any changes:
30 days or more before the trip: A cancellation made within this period will result in the forfeiture of your 30% deposit. If we or you can find another person or group to fill your spot, we will refund your deposit in full.
Cancellation due to injury: If you are injured and provide a doctor's note, we can move your trip to another date, but a full refund will not be provided. We also recommend considering travel insurance for situations like this.
Cancellation due to extreme weather conditions: If we must cancel the trip due to extreme weather that affects safety, you will have the option to either reschedule for a later date or receive a full refund.m description
